Gulfport Museum of History opens

The Gulfport Museum of History opened this past Saturday for the first time since the start of the pandemic.

The museum originally opened March 4th, but was forced to close due to COVID on March 14th.

The museum is currently operating with abbreviated hours that consist of Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

While admission is free to all of its guests, annual memberships can be purchased for an individual and also a family. Individual memberships are $25 a year while family memberships are $40 a year.

The Gulfport Museum of History is located at the Old Train Depot in Downtown Gulfport and volunteers are looking forward to more guests attending. VP and Volunteer Coordinator Pat Pennell said, “We are hoping the public will come out and we are trying to use all of the guidelines that have been set forth and the Saturday opening gave us a feeling of how it would go and it went very well.”

The museum will open Thursday through Sunday of next week for Cruisin’ the Coast and will be having a special book sale.
