Gulfport Museum of History needs volunteers

Soon you’ll be able to step back in time and experience the history of Gulfport at the newest museum coming to town.

Beginning in March, the Gulfport Museum of History will be open to visitors four days a week.

The museum needs your help to opens its doors. Volunteers are needed to welcome guests into the museum.

If sharing the history of Gulfport is something that might interest you, there is a reception for potential volunteers being hosted this Thursday. Historical Society of Gulfport President Betty Shaw said, “Well, we need people that will be able to welcome and talk to people about the history of Gulfport. It’s really important that people know what a friendly town we are and know the deep business and social history here.”

The informational reception for potential volunteers will be hosted this Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at 1419 27th Avenue. Anyone is welcome to attend.

No experience is necessary to volunteer at the museum.
