Gulfport man pleads guilty to aggravated assault

A Gulfport man pled guilty to aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Twenty-nine year-old Rico Brown was found guilty for a 2015 shooting that happened at Memorial Hospital. Gulfport police arrived on scene and located multiple witnesses and the victim who was not injured in the shooting.

Police determined there was a brief argument before Brown pulled out a revolver and fired four shots at the victim, missing him each time then Brown and his girlfriend fled the scene.

Brown was sentenced to 30 years for the crimes, 15 years suspended, leaving 15 years to serve.
