Gulfport man identified as victim in shooting at Flint Creek Water Park

WIGGINS, Miss. (WXXV)- Authorities have released the identity of the individual who died at Flint Creek Water Park over the weekend.

Stone County Coroner Wayne Flurry identified the victim as 31-year-old Jacob Nitkiewicz of Gulfport.

When first responders arrived, Nitkiewicz had already passed away at the scene.

Investigators say the shooting is believed to have been a tragic accident, though an autopsy is still pending.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is assisting Wiggins police in the case because the incident happened at a state park.
