Gulfport man arrested for sexual battery

Gulfport police arrested 26-year-old Eliezer Beamen on sexual battery charges.

According to police, the department was notified yesterday after a woman stated that Beamen touched her inappropriately while she slept. After issuing a warrant for Beamen’s arrest, the suspect gave officials a false name.

His identity was later ascertained by officers on the scene and police arrested and transported him to the Harrison County Detention Center.

Beamen is being charged with one count of felony sexual battery and one count of misdemeanor false information.
