Gulfport Main Street Announces Grant Recipients
The Gulfport Main Street Association is helping Gulfport grow, one small business at a time.
The association has announced the winners of their Small Business Grant Program. Out of 37 requests, 12 businesses in historic downtown Gulfport were chosen to receive a portion of $15,000 to help them fund projects needed to help them grow and thrive.
13th Street Jazz Bistro, Corks and Cleaver, Fallon’s Gourmet and the Gulfport Galleria of Fine Art are just a few of the businesses that will put the money to use with things like signage to attract more people to their businesses and marketing assistance. Gulfport Main Street Director Laurie Toups said, “We especially love our mom and pop businesses, our small businesses and that’s what this was. There were certain guidelines that you had to remain under a certain number of employees, you had to be in business for a certain period of time. We want to encourage people to go into business and know that there is help.”
Other businesses that received grants include the Chimney’s Restaurant, Pop Brothers, Tony’s Pizzeria, Triplett Day Drugs, Twelve Thirteen Salon, Hair and Tonic, Estate Auction Company and All about Hair.
