Gulfport High’s Theatre Department rehearsing for ‘Grease’

Gulfport High’s Theatre Department is in its final weeks of rehearsal for the upcoming production of the classic musical ‘Grease.’

‘Grease’ was a musical play turned movie, set in the 1950s, that follows the life of middle class teenagers as they navigate the complexities of peer pressure, core values, and love.

The theatre department at Gulfport will have multiple chances for guests to catch the musical with showings on February 4th, 11th, and 12th at 6 p.m. and two showings on February 5th at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Performer Olivia Kidd said, “So, I really love Grease. If anyone has seen the movie, they know that it is really fun and sweet. Everyone dances and it’s cute. I really love the musical because I feel like it explores a lot of those characters way more.”

Performer Ava Suit said, “I’m definitely very, very excited especially because it’s not only do I get to portray this character that I love, but I also get to see my work come to life.”

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students.
