Gulfport High School hosting Hurricane Laura relief drive

Gulfport High School is still hosting a Hurricane Laura Relief Drive for victims in Lake Charles.

After Hurricane Laura left its mark, Gulfport High’s Secretary Anna Turner felt obligated to help since both sides of her family live in Lake Charles.

With the help of the high school’s Ambassador’s Club and many contributions from faculty and students, the items will be given out this Saturday in Lake Charles to those in need.

Turner has been working with the catholic charities organizations in the Lake Charles area and will be setting up to prepare food and give out goods to those affected. “I’ve been working in connection with the Gulfport High School’s Ambassador Team and to have leadership here, to allow us to do this, I’m just in awe and overwhelmed with the response that co-workers and family members are bringing and the students. So just really excited.”

Donations are still being accepted until noon on September 25th and can be dropped off at the Gulfport High School’s main office from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
