Gulfport Harbor Lights Winter Festival
Get ready to feel the Christmas spirit! Today marked the grand opening of the third annual Gulfport Harbor Lights Winter Festival.
The festival fills Jones Park with lighted displays, live music, a huge ferris wheel, a Santa village, and food stands. The spectacular light show showcases over a million lights and more than 140 light fixtures, over 40 acres of a winter wonderland.
The festival can be enjoyed as a walking tour that takes one hour or you can chose to enjoy it aboard a free heated trolley. Festival goer Clifton Avant “You can expect the Christmas spirit and beautiful lights and fun. You know, if you’re old like I am, you have fun coming back. It’s great to enjoy. It’s just wonderful.”
Festival goer Robin Belmonte said, “Bring your walking shoes and bring your scarfs. It’s a little bit chilly, bring a couple extra dollars for the kids to play on the carousel and ride the ferris wheel and just come ready to have a good time.”
The festival runs every night until December 31st from 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m., excluding Christmas Eve and Christmas day.
