Gulfport Disaster Resiliency Meeting
Gulfport residents know all too well the dangers of heavy rain and flooding. City officials continue to combat the problems torrential rain falls can cause especially within Ward 1.
Gulfport Councilman Truck Casey asked SBP, an organization out of New Orleans, to come and speak to his constituents on the importance of being prepared before the floods come instead of dealing with them afterwards.
Although the attendance was slim, Judy Bradshaw, the National Volunteer Department manager for SBP, says disaster preparedness is not only smart, but cost efficient.
Councilman Casey says the meetings will continue in the next few months. If you couldn’t make it tonight, you still have time.
