Gulfport community leaders coming together to feed seniors and children

Leaders in the Gulfport community are coming together to help feed senior citizens and children at this time.

This is why the Extend a Hand, Help a Friend Foundation partnered up with G Mama’s House of Soul Food and Catering, city councilmen, and the Harrison County Board of Supervisors to hand out and deliver free meals at two locations.

The Mount Olive Lodge 83 location will serve from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. while the Climb CDC Family Enrichment Center will distribute meals from noon until 1:30 p.m. through at least March 27th.

If you have any questions about having meals delivered or tutoring, visit the Extend a Hand, Help a Friend Foundation’s Facebook page. Jeffrey Hulum III with the Foundation said, “I just think about my mother, who is a senior citizen, or my grandmother, if she would have been here. I can just go on and on about the seniors in our community here in Gaston Point, the Quarters, and North Gulfport, we are an older community now. So, we need to keep them as healthy as possible because they are the legacies of our community and they deserve every right to live just as everyone else.”

There’s also a tutoring and homework space at the Climb CDC Family Enrichment Center for students who may not have access to computers at home.
