Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport awarded $3.4 million federal grant

The Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport has been awarded a $3.4 million federal grant for noise mitigation measures.
The money will be used for an ongoing effort that began in 2005 to sound proof residences on properties which fall within the FAA’s pre-established sound contours. The sound-proofing will be done through the installation of new windows, doors, insulation, or HVAC units.
Congressman Steven Palazzo issued a statement on the grant, saying it’s important the federal government provide the infrastructure support needed to ensure the airport’s continued success.
