Gulfport-Biloxi Airport Greets Guests w/ Mardi Gras Goodies

People coming off planes in Hawaii are welcomed with leis.

On Friday, people exiting a plane on the Coast were welcomed with Mardi Gras beads. The Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport, along with the C.V.B., welcomed passengers on Sun Country’s Tampa flight Mardi Gras style. As they exited the plane, they were given beads, king cake, and parade information materials. The Sun Country flight was a Beau Rivage charter flight with frequent fliers to the area.

Clay Williams, Executive Director of the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport, says, "We want to make sure that people are in a festive spirit for the weekend and give them a little taste of Mardi Gras. We’re giving out king cakes and the Convention and Visitors Bureau has beads to give away to them and we just want to let them know that this is an exciting time of year here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and hope that they’ll come back as a repeat visitor."

Similar flights were welcomed for the Super Bowl, which was held in New Orleans two years ago.
