Gulfport Behavioral Health System Announces 24/7 Stress and Anxiety Hotline

Gulfport, Mississippi – March 276, 2020 –Today, Gulfport Behavioral Health System announced the opening of its Stress and Anxiety Hotline. Currently the only local HOTLINE of its type on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, it will operate 24/7 through the COVID-19 pandemic and is designed to assist the community with tips, tricks, techniques and resources to help them alleviate the stress and anxiety generated from the pandemic and resulting changes in normalcy many people are experiencing. Loyal Ownes, CEO for Gulfport Behavioral Health explained, “We wanted to give our community an outlet and some direction to help them cope with the significant changes in personal environments and circumstance around the COVID-19 Pandemic. Anyone feeling overwhelmed with anxiety and or stress can call the HOTLINE at 228-236-2236 and speak to a Masters trained social worker or therapist regarding their situation.” The HOTLINE opened at this morning, Friday, March 27, 2020, at 8:00 AM CST and will remain open indefinitely.

Gulfport Behavioral Health Systems will continue to maintain its 24/7 Mental Health Assessment and Intake line at 1-800-831-1700 as well as will continue to accept walk-in and referral patients throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Gulfport Behavioral continues to be the behavioral facility of choice for inpatient children (ages 4-11) adolescents (ages 12-17), and adult behavioral and mental services on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The addition of the Stress and Anxiety Hotline furthers the improvement of services put in place by Gulfport Behavioral.
