Gulf Coast Winter Classic
The Harrison County Fairgrounds are in store for a big weekend as the Gulf Coast Winter Classic is in full swing.
With just two weeks remaining in the annual event, the public is invited to come out on Sunday for one of the biggest days yet.
Riders from as far away as Ireland will be competing in the Grand Prix event, a class competing for a $25,000 grand prize.
Winter Classic Coordinator Janet McCarroll tells News 25 that residents of the Gulf Coast have really appreciated the event. “We get a lot of local spectators, like I said, a ton of them come. We run out of parking almost every Sunday so I think it just creates a lot of excitement, brings a lot of money to the area, and creates a lot of excitement. We’re real proud to be here and the local crowd that comes loves us so we like that.’
Admission to the event is free and while there are some grandstands for viewing, residents are encouraged to bring their own seating.
