Gulf Coast Rescue Mission Thanksgiving meal
Thanksgiving is just a few days away and leaders and workers at the Gulf Coast Rescue Mission in Biloxi are already working hard and preparing.
For the past 33 years, the nonprofit has prepared a holiday feast for everyone in the community in addition to the daily meals they provide year round. As they do every year, special deliveries will be made for some of our local first responders so they can enjoy a delicious meal while on duty.
John MacInnis, who will cook the meals, tells News 25 they plan on cooking a traditional turkey dinner with everything you want with a Thanksgiving feast. Rev. Tom Mims with Gulf Coast Rescue Mission said, “It’s not just for the less fortunate and needy, it is for everybody and anybody that wants to come. We have been doing it for so long and its grown to be so big. We will feed somewhere between 500 and 700 people and we have people from all over the country that have been a part of this and have made it a part of their tradition and they will come in and see old friends and fellowship with each other and have a good time.”
This meal will be served on Thanksgiving at the Mission on Mission Lane in Biloxi from noon to 4 p.m. and is free and open to all.
