Gulf Coast Public Safety Feed the Needy

Gulf Coast Public Safety has fed the needy for the past 26 years and now it’s time they continue the tradition.
Biloxi, D’Iberville, Gulfport, Long Beach and Pass Christian police departments as well as the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department are teaming up once again to deliver hot meals to the less fortunate on Christmas Day.
Now, it’s your turn to help because Feed the Needy is funded by donations and volunteers only. What started out as a project feeding only a few people now provides for approximately 5,000 people. Captain Harold Windom with Biloxi PD said, “It seems every year there’s more and more people in need. Hopefully, you know, the economy will get turned around, but right now every year there’s more and more people who just need a little hand. They’ve fallen on hard times. They just need a little hand. Everybody give a little bit, it goes a long way.”
If you are in need of a meal or know someone who is, contact any of the sponsoring agencies. To make a donation or to simply volunteer call Lieutenant Mike Shaw with the Gulfport Police Department at 228-868-5703.
