Gulf Coast mourns the loss of David Mohler

It’s been nearly two weeks since the Gulf Coast community had to say goodbye to David Mohler, the owner of the beloved Tatonut Shop in Ocean Springs.

He was a long-term Gulf Coast resident and ran the famous shop, home to “the only real doughnut.”

It’s a loss the community can’t seem to shake as a black wreath hangs in front of the Tatonut Shop.

Close family and friends gathered for the visitation ceremony that was held at Bradford O’Keefe in Ocean Springs. Ocean Springs Ward 2 Alderman Rickey Authement said, “It wasn’t real that he died. He was in here working a few days prior to that. When everyone got the news, everyone started posting. He’s a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs and has a big following. Everywhere you go on vacation and you say you’re from Ocean Springs people mention Tatonut.”
