Gulf Coast Heritage Tour Project

For the disabled, traveling across the Coast and visiting historical sites isn’t so easy, but there’s an organization working to make it a little easier.
Today, Disability Connection launched their Gulf Coast Heritage Tours Information Center. They went out and filmed many coastal historic sites to put together in video form.
The tour is also a way to encourage locals and tourists to get out and view the history of the Gulf Coast.
Disability Connection Executive Director Janie O’Keefe said, “We have traveled to 134 locations and we have studied the accessibility features with Walt Gracin who is a professional heritage story teller. We have documented the 134 places. We’ve done 15 mini films and a documentary.”
You can also view the virtual tour online at disabilityconnection.org.
