Gulf Coast Carnival Association Preps

Fat Tuesday is just one week away and the barricades are going up in Biloxi as final preps are being made for the culmination of Mardi Gras Festivities here on the coast.
It’s been a yearlong effort by the Gulf Coast Carnival Association for the upcoming major events the King D’Iberville and Queen Ixolib announcement Sunday, the coronation ball Monday, and finally the parade on Tuesday afternoon.

Although it’s a lot of hard work officials tell News 25…come fat Tuesday, it’s all worth it.

“When you ride through the streets on Tuesday and you see those people’s faces…it gives me goosebumps every time I think about it. It is worth every minute of it to see those faces. I don’t care if it’s a child, an adult, or an elderly person…it doesn’t matter. If you saw their faces, you would understand.” –
– Nancy Rogers Executive Director, Gulf Coast Carnival Association

The Gulf Coast Carnival Association’s Parade will roll at 1:00 pm on Fat Tuesday.
