Groundbreaking for St. Martin Intersection

A groundbreaking ceremony kicked off repair work at a dangerous intersection in St. Martin this morning.
The $2.4 million project works to improve the intersection of Old Fort Bayou Road and Yellow Jacket Boulevard.
Plans include the removal of the sharp turn on Old Fort Bayou Road and an installation of a four-way controlled traffic light with additional turning lanes.
The project for the new road will be completed during the 2016 school year. The part that impacts current traffic will finish up before school starts.
