Ground Zero Blues Club holds grand opening in Biloxi

The Ground Zero Blues Club finally held their grand opening today after delays pushed back the date.

The club, located on Howard Avenue in Biloxi, invited people across the Coast to come celebrate the second ever Ground Zero Blues location.

The original Ground Zero opened in Clarksdale, Mississippi and is owned by Academy Award winning actor Morgan Freeman.

The design of the venue is inspired by the original Clarksdale location, but with a coastal twist.

Those who have visited the original location will recognize an indoor porch inspired by the front facade of the Clarksdale location. Ground Zero Co-Owner Lee Young said, “It is beyond words. I don’t even have words for that part of it. I think the whole COVID – when COVID hit – it put everyone back. We didn’t even know if we would have live music venues anymore, and so to see this actually come to fruition is very special.”

The club will be open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
