Grant Me Hope: 19-year-old Patrick hoping to find permanent family after trying to be adopted for 5 years

(WXXV) — Every Monday, News 25 features a person from Mississippi hoping to get adopted.

Today, we’re highlighting 19-year-old Patrick. He has been looking for someone to adopt him for five years.

Here’s what he had to say:

“My name is Patrick, I like to be called James. I am currently 19 years old and I am just really happy to be here. I like to draw, I do some voice acting. I do a couple of voice impersonations. I can do Scooby Doo and Shaggy.

“What I did this week, I spent a little bit of time drawing on Monday, uh… I actually wrote in my journal a little bit on Tuesday. I like Anime which is Japanese cartoons for those who don’t know. My favorite activity would have to be drawing, because I used to spend a lot of my time out here out front drawing.

“Adoption means, I find a family, they would accept me for who I am. You know just very outgoing, very friendly. I’m ready to find a family that’s right for me. It is kinda hard to talk about that stuff because I know that I’m nineteen now and its really hard for me to find a place.

“Like I said I’m very happy go lucky. I’m very outgoing, I like to make friends and I’m hoping that those kinds of characteristics would put me in a great home. I like to help out. I like to try and help out I should say.

“If I were adopted into a family I would feel… like overly happy. I would feel excited. Age wouldn’t really matter because I’m hoping to make relationships for the rest of my life.”
