Grant Me Hope: 11-year-old Israel is hoping to be adopted

Every Monday here on WXXV we feature a child from Mississippi hoping to get adopted. Today you will meet 11-year-old Israel. He has been looking for someone to adopt him for over two years.

Hi. My name is Israel. One thing I’m grateful for is being here and then waking up in the morning. I like playing football, going to my friend’s house, helping my mom around the house.

When I’m with my friends, I just like to chill and then joke around and then like just be a better person and stuff.

Halloween is my favorite time of year because I like Mike Meyers and stuff and we go around scaring people if they want to be scared. And we can joke around and eat candy and stuff.

If I could change the world, it would be helping people. No littering and no violence.

Most of my free time is like writing lyrics and coloring. Most of the time I write lyrics because like when I’m upset it helps me calm down and stuff and gives parents or adults like I show how I’m feeling and stuff. If I could write a song, one of my best songs would be about my mom because I really miss her and then I do wish I could go back.

To me a family means that a person would take care of you, like give you a home, somewhere to live, and a place to eat and lay your head down, just helping you around, like if you’re in trouble or something.

Some characteristics I’d like to see in my family is like to be fun and then just treat me like I’m supposed to be treated. Treated nicely, important and being better than I was before.

To me adopting me, like a person who would take care of me, you would be a better person. I guess I’m really hoping that I could bet a good family that would treat me nice.
