Grandparents Day Breakfast

It was a tossup of who had bigger smiles this morning, elementary students or their grandparents.
Both Popp’s Ferry and North Bay Elementary schools hosted a breakfast in honor of Grandparents Day. The annual event gives families a chance to see their grandkids’ school and meet some of the staff.
There were over a thousand attendees at North Bay and a packed cafeteria at Popp’s Ferry, all filled with joy.
Sandy Fernandez and her grandson Cole Martin both attended the North Bay Elementary Grandparents Day Breakfast. “It means a lot to me, it means very like it means very much love for her to bring me here,” said Martin. “My grandson is everything to me. We’ve been together since the day he was born. We’ve read together since he was six weeks old. There isn’t anything we haven’t done together,” said Fernandez.
The official Grandparents Day is celebrated this Sunday on September 11th.
