Governor Tate Reeves discusses mask mandate
Reeves said today that counties that have more than 200 cases in the last 14 days, or what is equivalent to 500 new cases per 100,000 residents, will fall into the mask mandate extension.
Governor Reeves says that some counties that have a change in cases on a day-to-day basis may be added additionally as well. “What we know is that mitigation with this virus works. It works. If you will socially distance, if you will wear a mask, if you will not go into a large group, perhaps if you will stay away from bars, especially if you’re a young person. Stay away from large gatherings indoors. We can and we will slow the spread of this virus.”
Regarding bars, Reeves is discussing the possibility of adding regulations.
The governor says he is not planning on shutting down businesses. He also mentions that considering the transmission, it is possible that additional restrictions will be added to the new order on Monday.
