Governor Tate Reeves addresses COVID-19 spikes
The full reopening of the state of Mississippi has been put on pause.
For weeks, Governor Tate Reeves said the plan was to fully reopen the state of Mississippi by July 1st. That is no longer happening now that Mississippi has recorded over 1,000 deaths.
Governor Reeves said it is not that our current rules are too loose, but that our challenge is that the people aren’t following the simplest of rules.
He went on to say that we need more cooperation, not more mandates. However, a statewide order is not being taken off the table.
Governor Reeves and Dr. Thomas Dobbs are once again urging Mississippians to wear masks, avoid large gatherings and throwing parties, and continue to practice social distancing.
