Governor Reeves extends shelter-in-place orders for seven more days

There is a light at the end of the tunnel for Mississippians, according to Governor Tate Reeves in a press conference this morning.

However, Governor Reeves says we are still in the eye of the storm and has decided to extend the shelter-in-place order for seven more days.

The order was set to lift on Monday, April 20th but will now go until April 27th.

Governor Reeves did announce he’s easing the brakes on some non-essential businesses though such as clothing stores as long as they can continue to make safe sales through drive-thru or curb-side.

The state’s beaches are set to open on Monday, but beaches in Harrison County are open.
