Gov. Bryant Meets With Trump Transition Team

Governor Phil Bryant meets with a leader of president-elect Donald Trump’s transition team. According to a post on the governor’s Facebook page, the meeting happened yesterday in Washington D.C. Bryant has said he is not actively seeking an appointment in the Donald Trump administration, but that it might be difficult to reject an offer from the President-Elect. The Governor said he would consider an appointment as secretary of agriculture or another post. No offers have been made the meeting very preliminary. But in the event Governor Bryant were to leave his term early to take a position in Washington, Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves would become Governor.
