Giving back to moms in need
With Mother’s Day this weekend, one local organization is looking to uplift women who are survivors of domestic abuse.
The Beautify the Meek organization has been collecting donations to support women and children in domestic violence shelters, drug rehab centers, and homeless shelters.
The group is donating items such as body wash, shower gels, soaps, toiletries, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and feminine hygiene products as well as gift bags, purses, book bags, and jewelry. Volunteer Shaegy Ptcanion said, “So if you think about someone who is transitioning from a domestic violence situation and they are fleeing and they don’t have anything, the smallest items like toiletries or undergarments or purse, and it will just uplift someone’s spirits.”
