Girls Soccer Playoffs begin tomorrow: 12 Coast teams playing in the post-season

Tomorrow 22 Coast soccer teams embark on their post season in hopes of hoisting a gold ball on February 5th.

Whether in search of a third consecutive state title or looking for redemption, the first round of the playoffs is where it begins.

Starting with the girls 6A ranks, Ocean Springs is one of those teams trying to get a monkey off their backs after getting knocked out early last year.

Undefeated and allowing only two goals all last season, the Lady Greyhounds fell to Brandon 3-2 in the first round.

Currently on a 10-game shut-out streak, OS hosts Pearl tomorrow night at 5.

Over in Gulfport, the Lady Admirals secured their 14th consecutive district title last week and begin their hunt for a third straight state championship tomorrow against Brandon.

In Class 1, St. Patrick, just three goals short of a state title, losing in the championship game last year to St. Andrew’s, begins their road to redemption at home against Crystal Springs.

D’Iberville visits Northwest Rankin and Biloxi travels to Oak Grove.

In the 5A ranks, Lady Bearcats at South Jones, West Harrison hosts Wayne County, and Gautier goes to Florence.

In class 4A the Tomcats roll out the welcome mat for Lawrence County, Poplarville hosts Northeast Jones, and Pass Christian is on the road against North Pike.

One last game not mentioned yet, Our Lady Academy goes to McLaurin.
