How Do I Get An Interview On Coastal Connections

Coastal Connections is WXXV’s community oriented segment, which airs on Saturday and Sunday mornings at various times on WXXV’s NBC affiliate channel in South Mississippi. Inquiries or requests for appearances should be emailed to producer and host, Toni Miles at: The 2-and-a-half minute segments air after being pre-recorded in the WXXV News Studio set located at our place of business: 14351 Highway 49 North, Gulfport, MS 39503. Our studio is a few miles north of the K-mart on Highway 49 and just north of the Lyman Community Center. There is a WXXV flashing marquee outside of our building. It is on the west side of Highway 49 and on the left side if you are traveling north.
Arrival time for tapings are around 2:30 to 2:45 pm on Mondays and Tuesdays typically air that following weekend. When on set any color will work except for green as this color will make you (part of you anyway!) disappear on air due to our background. These segments promote upcoming events, the event must be scheduled at least two weeks out from taping!
Format is to have one guest (sometimes an exception will be made for 2 guests) on set to go over three possible talking points. We end the segment with a graphic outlining specifics of the event and can use any video previously shot of the event or to illustrate the event. It always helps to have video, photos and other information in to the producer a few days beforehand. Once booked, you can send your video, music, graphics, or other visual aids to Other alternatives: drop off a flash drive with these materials at our station at the front desk and mark them for Toni; or you can place them in WXXV News 25’s Dropbox account, calling it to Toni’s attention. Also, be sure to include the interviewee’s full name and title as you would like it to air. This information also needs to be emailed or related a few days in advance if possible.
