George P. Corchis, Jr., No Longer President and COO of MGM Resorts International’s Southern Operations

George P. Corchis, Jr., President and Chief Operating Officer of MGM Resorts International’s Southern Operations announced his resignation today.
During his tenure, Corchis oversaw operations at both Beau Rivage and Gold Strike Tunica, and served as a Board member for MGM Grand Detroit. He was instrumental in the restoration of Beau Rivage in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and most recently, played a key role in the construction of the Minor League Baseball stadium on Beau Rivage land, which opened on June 6.
Jim Murren, Chairman & CEO of MGM Resorts, acknowledged Corchis for his efforts and leadership over the past decade, and extended best wishes for future endeavors. The resignation is effective June 16.
An announcement about future leadership will be made when available.

According to the Sun Herald, Corchis Jr., did not resign.
