George County man faces additional charges in child sexual assault case

Man initially charged on June 2
A George County man who was charged on June 2 in a case involving the sexual assault of a minor now faces additional charges, Sheriff Keith Havard said in a press release.
John William Tuneburg Sr., 76, was charged with one count of touching a child for lustful purposes after an investigation by George County Sheriff’s Office.
Tuneburg was given a $7,500 commercial bond on that charge.
But after further investigation, another victim has come forward and on Friday, Tuneburg faced an additional charge of molestation. An additional bond of $30,000 was set in Justice Court.
The investigation is ongoing and the sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information about this case to contact the Criminal Investigations Division. Information regarding the victims will not be released due to the nature of the crime.
Tuneburg remains in custody at the George County Regional Correctional Facility.
