Gautier Mayor Phil Torjusen stops by WXXV, discusses new developments in the city

Mayor Phil Torjusen stopped by News 25 today to discuss two recreational developments that have broke ground in Gautier.

Bacot Park on Ladnier Road is getting a face lift.

The renovations include a baseball field, football fields, splash pads and security that goes from the park all the way into the police station so police can monitor park grounds.

Also, construction for Town Commons is underway. The 33 acre project is made to bring new business to Gautier and create a new quality of life for Gautier residents.

Phil Torjusen, Gautier Mayor, says “What we’re doing here in Gautier is we’re trying to redevelop the mall property, we are going to theme it, it’s going to have a little bit for every body. But we’re going to theme it a little bit more toward millennial lifestyle. Where they want to live there, they want to eat there, they want to drink there, they want to party there and all that. We want to help do our part to stop the brain drain in Mississippi.”

New developments don’t stop there. This Friday, Mary Walker Marina will be under new ownership and begin renovations.
