Gautier High Seniors Break Record

The senior class at Gautier High is breaking a school record.
Together, the graduating class was awarded more than $10.5 million in scholarship money. That’s $2 million more than any other senior class at Gautier High School.
The school celebrated the achievement at Senior Night on Monday. Eighty-seven students were offered scholarship money. Principal Al Sparkman tells News 25 most of the submissions involved writing essays. He says he couldn’t be more proud of the class. “We set a new record, but we really blew the old record out of the water. This class has done some extraordinary things and we’re happy to celebrate it with them and the entire community.”
“It gives everyone here at the school the wonderful warm feeling to know that our students are interested in their futures,” said Career Center Director Bill Massey.
Sparkman tells News 25 Gautier High School’s career center director, Bill Massey, has played a huge role in helping students get scholarships for 14 years. Massey retires this year.
