Gautier High Marching Band wraps up band camp

The Gautier High School marching band is back to work today as they wrapped up their final day of band camp.

The members have been stomping in the heat for three days as they prepare for competition season this October.

Once the camp is wrapped up, students will have daily rehearsals during the school year to continue perfecting their work.

Director of Bands Christopher Chandler believes the team has been performing at their absolute best despite the difficult times. “It’s been going great, dealing with the punches as they rolled and we have a fantastic group of leaders, a fantastic group of kids, and they are dedicated to the cause and doing a fantastic job. A year ago, we were hoping that we wouldn’t be back where we were, but the matter of fact is that every day is unpredictable.”

The band will also perform their marching show at halftime of the Gautier High School football games this upcoming season.
