Gautier City Council Votes to Keep State Flag

Gautier City Council has unanimously decided the state flag will continue to fly in front of City Hall.
Around 200 residents made it to City Hall to see just what would happen tonight. Would the state flag fly another day on Gautier municipal property or would it come down?
Many guests waited outside as the 72 seat conference room was filled to maximum capacity. Twenty-four Gautier residents had the opportunity to speak their opinion, some were angry and some emotional.
The Council also unanimously voted in favor of a resolution supporting Speaker Philip Gunn’s call for a new state flag. Mayor Gollott and the Council have hopes that the state will change the flag soon and it’s not Gautier’s place to go against their state in taking the flag down.
