Gas leak on Seal Avenue and Division Street in Biloxi now capped off
A gas leak in Biloxi earlier today that caused over 50 Biloxi residents to flee their homes has been capped off.
Around 10 a.m. this morning Biloxi firefighters received a call of a gas leak at the intersection of Seal and Division.
When crews first arrived on scene, they discovered a large gas leak.
Biloxi firefighters blocked off areas surrounding the leak and went door to door urging residents to evacuate. Biloxi Fire Chief Joe Boney said, “We felt the need to evacuate some of the residents in roughly a quarter mile area. We called Coast Transit Authority to keep them out of the heat. We have a few with medical issues.”
The leak was capped off around 1 p.m. and residents were allowed to return to their homes.
