Garrett LaRosa next in line for Long Beach Baseball

The Long Beach baseball season might be over, but the Bearcats are already making moves for the 2021 season.

On Wednesday, Garret LaRosa was tabbed as the next head coach of the Bearcats where he helped lead his alma mater to the 5A state championship in 2010 as the clean-up hitter during his sophomore season.

The former catcher went on to play at the next level at Meridian Community College and later McNeese State before most recently serving as an assistant coach at Hancock High School.

LaRosa takes over for Conner Douglas who led Long Beach to a 9-3 record this season before announcing his resignation to take the job as an assistant baseball coach and assistant athletic director at Northwest Rankin.
