Funeral for Bay St. Louis Police Chief
This afternoon in Bay St. Louis, family, friends and law enforcement officers gathered for the funeral of Police Chief Mike De Nardo.
Chief Mike De Nardo was a military veteran and served for 30 years in law enforcement, including 12 at the Bay St. Louis Police Department. His unexpected death occurred last week, the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
De Nardo was a member of the Blue Knights, a law enforcement motorcycle club. A large group of motorcyclists and U.S. Marine Corps members were involved in his funeral procession.
Mayor Les Fillingame has referred to De Nardo’s service to the city of Bay St. Louis as “impeccable.”
