Fundraiser for Vancleave girl hit by car

Residents of Vancleave and the surrounding areas are coming together to lend a helping hand to eight-year-old Sa’Miya Buxton.

Sa’Miya was hit by a vehicle while boarding a school busy on February 4th in Vancleave. She suffered multiple fractures in her leg and arm and has under gone surgery to repair some of her injuries.

To help with medical bills and other expenses, Sideline Bar and Grill, the Pistoleros and others in the red and gold motorcycle family have came together to host a fundraiser for Sa’Miya. Pistoleros of Pascagoula President Reverse Pistolero said, “We are going to be having a 50- 50 auction. We are going to have a silent auction. We are going to be serving food plates. We are going to do smoke chicken, cole slaw, and baked beans and some bread. Also, we are going to be doing spaghetti plates. A lot of the community bars have come together and put together a poker run.”

The event will run all day Saturday, starting with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at Sideline Bar and Grill. The benefit poker run will start at 10 a.m.
