Fundraiser for retired Biloxi police officer

Today, the Biloxi Police Department held a fundraiser to help with medical costs for one of their officers.
Retired Biloxi Officer Mitch Roberts recently suffered a stroke. To assist with medical expenses the Biloxi Police Department sold seven dollar lunches today at Biloxi Fire Department Museum. Over two hundred lunches were pre-ordered to help with the cause.
The event that was supposed to run from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. was such a success that they were completely sold out of lunches by 12:45 p.m. Officer Joey Payne said, “Mitch put in over 25 years in public service. He retired and shortly after he retired he had a stroke and he was already doing a part time job that he can’t do now and he needed some help with bills and medical expenses so when we found this out like I said we didn’t hesitate to put this together.”
Officer Mitch Roberts said, “Well, it’s really nice because all these people came to remember and support me on all my work. Thank you very much.”
