Fundraiser for lung transplant recipient at Texas Roadhouse
Meridian resident Patty Driskill has a new lease on life.
Twelve years ago, she was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and until about a year ago, she was able to do conservative treatment.
However, when her health began to seriously decline, Patty’s family knew she needed a double lung transplant to keep her alive. After about a year on the transplant list, Patty finally received her new set of lungs on July 30th of this year!
Unfortunately for the wife and mother, her second chance at life comes with a high price tag.
One that her niece, Christy Myers, says includes the cost of relocating her closer to the treatment facility for the next six months. “For the rest of her life, she’ll be on the anti-rejection drugs so she can maintain the lungs. Those drugs are extremely expensive. It’s a lifelong commitment.”
If you’d like to help Patty and her family on the road to recovery, head to Texas Roadhouse in Gulfport today from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and tell them you’re supporting Patty Driskill. Ten percent of your total bill will be donated to the National Foundation for Transplants in Driskill’s honor.
