Fugitive wanted in Florida arrested in Biloxi for felony eluding and resisting arrest

On Thursday, May 14, 2020, the Biloxi Police Department assisted with a vehicle pursuit which entered the city limits of Biloxi from a neighboring jurisdiction.

During the pursuit the driver, identified as 25 year old Carlos Devonta Goodman of Tampa, FL, traveled recklessly near the 1600 block of Beach Blvd in an attempt to evade officers.

The vehicle pursuit ended near the 1700 block of Popps Ferry Road, at which time, Goodman fled from the vehicle on foot. BPD Officers were able to apprehend Goodman during a foot pursuit and he was placed into custody without incident.

It was determined that Goodman was a wanted fugitive through the state of Florida. Goodman was subsequently charged with felony eluding and resisting arrest.

He was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center and incarcerated on a $50,000 bond imposed by Harrison County Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain. No persons were injured during the pursuit. A passenger of the vehicle, identified as Cori Donte Fanti Jr., was charged with a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.
