Free Fur All pet adoption event at Humane Society of South Mississippi

Free pet adoptions today and tomorrow at the Humane Society of South Mississippi are part of their Free ‘Fur’ All event. They are waiving all adoption fees and opening their doors to families looking to welcome in a new furry friend.
Tails wagging happily as each animal cries out in hopes of being taken to their new fur-ever home. Answering to those cries are the hopeful future pet owners, as they swarm the Humane Society of South Mississippi for their Free Fur All event. HSSM Development Manager Katie King said, “Our numbers were close to 400. So our intake was a lot at the shelter. We just wanted to find as many of these animals loving homes as possible.”
It’s the Humane Society of South Mississippi’s Free Fur All event, which means all adoption fees are waived and you can take puppies, kittens, and cats home for free with an exception of a $5 tag fee.
Something Fallen Jenne and Noelle Necaise were all too excited about, ready to welcome in their new dog Bella to their cat family of four. “She was just going crazy. She was just going crazy, just whining and everything and I was like that’s the one immediately. I want her,” said Necaise.
Some had no idea about the adoption event, all they wanted was to take home a new furry friend and make new memories. Pet Owner Chase Sullivan said, “We picked a Chihuahua. We haven’t named it yet, but I’m hoping we can name it Sweetie.”
The two day event surely lives up to its name, giving a free home to the animals and the Humane Society also takes care of medical expenses. “That includes the spay-neuter surgery. They’re up to date on all their vaccinations, 30 days of free pet health insurance, a free starter bag of dog food, and a lifetime of unconditional love,” said King.
The free fur all event ends Friday at 6 p.m.
