Fourth annual Senior Summer Barbecue

The Boyington Health and Rehabilitation Center invites senior citizens in the Harrison County area from the age of 55 and older to enjoy free food and entertainment at the fourth annual Senior Summer Barbecue at Jones Park in Gulfport.

Hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, baked beans, and dessert are on the menu. Seniors will also have the opportunity to hit the dance floor as a DJ plays some throwback tunes from back in the day.

This event is to encourage senior citizens to get out, eat some great food, and enjoy themselves.  Boyington Health and Rehab Center Assistant Administrator Roxann Davidson said, “The Boyington is very much about our seniors. We are very passionate about our elderly in our communities. We want to make sure we are putting events out there that offer them the opportunities to participate. To us, it’s an honor and a pleasure to be able to do this for them.”

For seniors looking to work up an appetite before the barbecue, Mississippi Access to Care will have their first ever Mac Mile. Seniors can walk along the paved paths of Jones Park starting at 9 a.m.
