The Mississippi Department of Corrections has announced the deaths of four inmates so far in 2021.

An autopsy was to be done on each inmate.

The latest deaths were announced by the state Tuesday from Central Mississippi Correctional Facility, a 24-year-old man who was serving a three-year term for sexual battery and a 67-year-old man who was serving life for murder.

At least 106 inmates died in Mississippi prisons from late December 2019 until the end of 2020.
