Four Jackson County Students Receive Scholarships from Mississippi Association of Supervisors

Four out of 15 Mississippi Association of Supervisors scholarships were awarded to students from Jackson County.
Supervisor Melton Harris handed out the $1000 Minority Caucus Academic Scholarships at their meeting today. Grace Munro from Ocean Springs High School plans to attend the University of Mississippi. Benjamin Blackburn, Reid Bond and Kyle Spencer, all from Resurrection Catholic School, plan to attend Mississippi State University.
No other Mississippi counties received more than one scholarship.
Jackson County District 2 Supervisor Melton Harris said, “Well, I think it’s an exciting time for Jackson County because we often think Jackson County is the best place to work, live, raise a family, play and worship and so the fact that we received four scholarships, that’s an outstanding compliment for Jackson County, and we wish that once they go to college and finish college, we hope they find Jackson County as their favorite place to live.”
Each county can only receive up to five scholarships.
