Former Ocean Springs Mayor Connie Moran arrested on public drunk charge
OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV) — Former Mayor of Ocean Springs Connie Moran was arrested late Monday night, according to police.
Records obtained from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department show Moran was arrested January 13, 2020 by Ocean Springs Police on a charge of “public drunkenness,” which is a misdemeanor.
Moran, a Democrat, was elected Mayor of Ocean Springs in June of 2005, and began her second term as Mayor in July of 2009.
Moran served her last term as mayor of Ocean Springs until Shea Dobson was elected to a four-year term in 2017.
Moran was defeated by Dane Maxwell in the race for Public Service Commissioner Southern District in November 2019.
